Welcome to a whole new area of the BHJMTC website, one which we hope will be useful for parents and kids. Bike maintenance is one of the most important things that any rider, or parent, can learn. Apart from the obvious safety benefits, good maintenance can often save you a lot of money.

This is an area, which will build over the course of the next year, or two, in the hope of providing a helping hand to those new to the sport. Indeed, a lot of maintenance on a two stroke, or any bike, can be done yourself, saving a lot on overall running costs.

The plan is to utilise the knowledge base currently in the club, by reaching into the cobwebbed minds of some of the parents who have been involved with bikes for a long time. On that basis, if you feel you have something worthwhile to add, please pass it on, as the more information we have here, the better it will be for all concerned. Any offerings will undergo some scrutiny before potentially making it onto this site.

Also in here you will find the start of year message regarding bike checks and safety, along with what will be scrutinised at each meeting, just as a reminder of what to keep an eye on.

And finally, this is by no means meant to be an authoritative text, but purely of assistance to some riders and parents. If you are not confident in any motorcycle maintenance, then entrust the work to a professional.
